RED
Why do we all know victims but no perpetrators?
RED should be an action of self-confession.
It’s a discussion about the shame of the perpetrator, pain, overstepping boundaries and the way we and society handle and look at perpetration.
Perpetrator and victim - nobody wants to be neither of it. Because if we consider us as one of these concepts, we are facing a painful encounter.
With RED I invite you for a moment to feel the shame of perpetration and to ask yourself
the following questions:
Have I ever overstepped boundaries of others?
Have I ever considered myself as perpetrator?
Have I ever abused my position of power?
Have I ever abused my physical superiority?
Have I ever abused my intelectual superiority?
Have I ever been accomplice by only remaining silent?
Have I ever been accomplice by only lying?
Have I ever been accomplice by only not acting?
Have I ever overstepped boundaries by being nice?
What about the perpetrator you still love, work or have a friendship with?
How can I handle that and what should I do?
Are we capable of facing this kind of pain?
RED includes the entire spectrum of acts just like not respecting boundaries up to severe legal cases.
Besides, there should be space for reflecting our own coping mechanisms and how we see our role when it comes to those delicate situations.
Making a first step is my searching for answers.
